DEFRA - Poultry Registration

DEFRA is introducing new rules for poultry keepers in the UK. From 1st September 2024 in Scotland and 1st October in England and Wales, all poultry keepers, regardless of flock size, are required to register. The compulsory requirement was previously limited to poultry keepers over 50 birds, and now it applies to all flock sizes.

The reason for the change is to help DEFRA improve communications and advise when managing a disease outbreak, such as Avian Influenza (AI). Let's work together to keep our birds safe!
