Chicken Health and Poorly Hen Care Course
A practical course for poultry keepers
This 4-5 hour course teaches you how to:
Thoroughly health check your birds (presentation and discussion)
Identify illness in birds (video, presentation and discussion)
Visiting a vet – the reduced stress version! (presentation)
Keep your birds healthy (presentation)
Identify common health problems including; parasites, reproductive disease, respiratory disease, diarrhoea and much more (presentation)
Supportively care for sick birds at home (presentation and demonstration)
First aid kit essentials, and when to use them (presentation and demonstration)
Crop tube feeding – safety essentials! (video, presentation and practical)
Basic bandaging (video and practical)
Understand emergency euthanasia at home - (discussion and demonstration using models)
Q&A – opportunity to ask a poultry vet anything about chickens!

Who: Intermediate to advanced chicken keepers, but anyone with an interest in chicken health is welcome!
Why: There’s much information out there for chicken keepers, but it's not all reliable! I provide safe, effective, helpful advice for chicken keepers. I’m an experienced poultry vet, and this is my passion!
The course course costs £79 per person.
Please note: This course is not intended to be a replacement for veterinary care! The course aim is to help you keep your birds healthy, recognise when they are poorly, and give you practical skills to offer supportive care at home.
This course is not recommended for those under 18 years of age.
